Quality Supervisor

The Company operates manufacturing facilities in North America and Asia.
Tredegar Surface Protection has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Supervisor to join our Production/Manufacturing Team!
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises the physical testing (PT) laboratory and quality assurance activities in support of the production of high-quality films. Oversee the Certificate of Analysis (CoA) system, responsible for ensuring product conformance to customer and internal specifications. Assists in efforts to investigate major claims working with the appropriate manufacturing personnel and customers. Immediate responsibility for the physical testing lab which includes control and calibration of test equipment, test procedures, general and special testing requirements. Assists with coordination and execution of internal and external audit activities. Actively participates in a designated pillar team for the Tredegar First Class process improvement activities. Actively works to engage employees in participating on pillar teams and sub-teams. Actively demonstrates and promotes a Safety oriented mind-set for the team. Performs other duties as required to promote overall plant effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
DUTIES
- Oversee final inspection process, including camera reviews, and release authorization of all orders, including CoA generation and distribution.
- Coordinates with Production Supervisors to meet quality and production goals. Performs daily walkthrough of PT lab area, attends daily shift change meeting and collaborates with Production Supervisor to ensure daily quality/production goals are aligned, promotes and demonstrates a Safety work culture.
- Supervises and is responsible for the performance management process of physical testing lab personnel, including periodic performance reviews.
- Participates as directed by Quality Assurance Manager or designee in investigations. Including developing corrective action plans and follow-up on customer complaints, internal rejects and communicating same within plant.
- Coordinates ongoing testing and continuous improvement activities, including on-time training routine and technical objectives, as well as assisting in the development of enhanced testing methods and tool procurement, in the PT Lab.
- Assembles and manipulates data to provide periodic summaries and/or statistical reports (in support of ad hoc requests from customers) at the direction of Quality Assurance Manager or designee.
High School Diploma or GED required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred. 3+ years of supervisory experience required. Manufacturing plant experience, preferably in Quality Assurance required. Proficiency in JDE or similar system preferred. Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook required.
An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.
